This paper shows how tablets are used for accurate and transparent measurement of artisans’ efficiency and for a self-quality check. A digital platform follows the work instructions, training and education, and knowledge transfer. This provides real-time, secure and accurate information to the artisans, thereby empowering them to make decisions on the quality of product and move it to the next stage.

A vision measuring system (VMS) works on the principle of optical measurement of jewelry for the purpose of quality assurance. VMS is able to measure complex geometries that are otherwise hard to measure, down to less than ten microns. The use of vision inspection eliminates subjectivity in quality control and ensures consistent, high-quality output that is cost effective.
