There are many characteristics of the materials used to make jewelry castings. Understanding and controlling these characteristics are important to successful castings. One characteristic of interest is the permeability of the investment. This paper will explore a relationship between investment permeability and casting fill with three casting techniques: centrifugal, pressure-over-vacuum and gravity pour with vacuum assist.
