$0.00

Due to the recent interest in palladium alloys, this paper will take a closer look at the working characteristics of nickel white gold, palladium white gold, 950 palladium and 950 platinum/ruthenium. The goal is to give the jeweler a better understanding of the advantages and shortcomings of each material in a manufacturing environment. Various methods are used to produce findings, and this paper will include casting, soldering, cold forging, annealing, stamping, machining, assembly and finishing. Characteristics such as hardness, ductility and color will be explored. The information presented will give the jeweler the knowledge to choose the right metal for a diverse range of applications.
