The continual rise in the popularity of white-gold jewellery, coupled with the advances made in investment casting technology, have led to the re-design of some traditional casting alloys to achieve maximum potential. This presentation documents the communication between a materials supplier and a jewellery manufacturer who has introduced state-of-the-art investment casting technology into the workplace. A repeatable process to successfully cast a high-palladium white-gold alloy into standard sulphate-bonded investment is the end result.
