You will learn an approach to using thin layers of gold to create surface patterns with low technology and minimal cost to create maximum visual impact. The technique can be used on copper, silver, white gold, platinum and palladium using workshop-level skills.  This paper concentrates on keum-boo (hot burnishing of 24K onto other metals) and fusion applications such as fusion overlay, incised overlay and fusion inlay as well as showing how the techniques can be mixed. The principles of design using fusion application of gold, the control factors employed and the use of resists are explained. A clear, comprehensive and unique system is revealed.
